The Abbey Restaurant

Great food great service. I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and the bison (buffalo) burger. My husband said the chicken tenders with buffalo sauce and string onions were excellent, the best he's had yet in Kentucky. We both enjoyed the freshly cooked lightly seasoned Abby potato chips as an appetizer as well.

Polite staff. Good food The grilled chops were delicious. Loved the Fried Green Tomatoes. The dessert was excellent. The service was excellent too. I wouldn't mind trying more menu items if in town again.

Fast and friendly service. Fresh, hot and delicious food. Great prices! I would recommend the bbq wings, cowboy burger, fried banana peppers or the fried pickles. Chicken tenders are tasty. Absolutely hands down the best restaurant in London. The energy is wonderful the food is so amazing and the appetizers are wow mmmm so good and decently priced.

I was the only guest when I first arrived, so no one saw me go to the wrong door and yank on it repeatedly. Plenty of parking all around in a cute little downtown, in Eastern KY. They have a nice little beer selection, so I had a seat at the bar. The Blue was cold, and the server was quick. I wasn't expecting a bison burger, but there it was... she ensured me it had not been frozen, so I gave it a shot. I was not disappointed. I ordered it cooked to medium, and it was. The straight cut fries had just a dash of seasoning that was fitting. The place, including the bathrooms, was clean and tended to. There is a jukebox that takes cash only. This is my kind of place, on my kind of day...I feel like I didn't tip the server as much as I should have....I tried to do quick math. I look forward to going back, I'll do better. Based on this experience, I would definitely suggest giving them a try.

Ordered the fried green tomatoes, steak philly sandwich with french fries, veggie black bean burger with extra fresh toppings & sweet potato fries, side salads, and a secret recipe peanut butter pie. All was tasty, hot and seasoned well. Relaxed, casual environment with decor that pleases both the bar-attendee or the family dinner night. Clean restrooms and exceptional service.

When I asked the bartender about the catfish, he confidently called it the best all around—and he wasn't wrong. It was absolutely delicious! I was genuinely impressed. The breading was perfectly seasoned, and there was a generous amount of tender fish inside.

Traveling from Ohio to Tennessee and decided to go off path and try The Abbey. Best detour we have taken. Service exceptional , Jeff was awesome helped answer questions and gave recommendations. The food is quality and well presented and taste was spot on. Best compliments to the Chef. The environment is clean and typical of a downtown eatery. Restrooms as well are clean. We dined at 12:30(lunch) I would bring children during this time. Can’t say what evening crowd would be like as there is a bar. We had the Abbey Burger with onion straws and Catfish Sandwich and potato salad. Can not go wrong. Prices are reasonable. Hope you give them a try.
